Is plastic more permeable than glass I see its strength stretched taught Allowing me to see through but not fully enter I push and it gives without shattering Our worlds Are more like glass If we push too hard They will shatter We do not have the luxury Of plasticity We cannot poke and pry Pushing ourselves Into each other's lives Without creating an opening Thereby destroying the offspring To our minds hereafter I welcome you into my world As you do me But we can evoke only echoes of communication The timpani of an ear drum Our worlds are of glass And so, we must reach out by listening to the taps We have built our own Morse code Where you type upon the keys I can see and speak through your eyes As you do me 5/7/2014
